Australia Day at the Bay
The City of Holdfast Bay celebrates Australia Day, offering a true-blue beachside Australia Day experience, with an early community barbecue breakfast from 7am, official ceremonies from 9am to welcome new Australian citizens and celebrate local heroes, and a big, free family fun day on the Glenelg Foreshore.
Each year the Australia Day ceremony in Glenelg welcomes people of all ages from numerous countries who will take the oath to become Australian citizens. They will also celebrate local heroes as they receive well-deserved Australia Day Awards.
You are welcome to join in from 7am for the community fundraiser BBQ breakfast. Following the ceremony the community is invited to enjoy free activities until mid-afternoon on the Foreshore reserve such as live music, balloon twister, roving entertainment, giant games and face painting.
Australia Day at the Bay is a family friendly day by the beach.
